The Animated Blockbuster Phenomenon

The BAFTA Film Awards are preparing to embrace the monumental success of the year's most impactful animated creation. EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the distinct vocal talents embodying Rumi, Mira, and Zoey of the band HUNTR/X from Netflix's record-breaking film, “Kpop Demon Hunters,” are scheduled to deliver a live rendition of the movie's smash hit, “Golden,” at the awards ceremony on February 22nd.

A Historic Live Performance

“Taking the stage at the EE BAFTA Film Awards is an extraordinary achievement that our younger selves could only have dreamed of!” expressed EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami collectively. “We are immensely proud to represent Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters and to share the film's uplifting message with fans worldwide.” This performance will be the trio’s first live appearance outside the United States, marking a significant milestone in their burgeoning careers.

Unprecedented Success of 'Golden'

This exciting news arrives after the decision that “KPop Demon Hunters” did not qualify for a BAFTA film award, as it did not meet the required theatrical release criteria. Released in June 2025, “Kpop Demon Hunters” rapidly became Netflix's most-watched film ever, accumulating over half a billion streams. Concurrently, its leading track, “Golden,” has maintained its position as the top-streamed song of 2026, boasting more than 4 billion streams and an impressive eight-week reign atop the Billboard Hot 100. Among its many accolades, “Golden” is the first female K-Pop song to hit number one on the chart and holds the record for the longest number one run by a female group in the 21st century. The previous weekend, it made history as the first K-Pop song to win a Grammy Award, receiving the honor for Best Song Written for Visual Media.

Celebrating Impact and Entertainment

Emma Baehr, BAFTA’s executive director of awards & content, commented on the upcoming performance: “‘KPop Demon Hunters’ has profoundly captivated audiences globally since its release last summer. We are therefore delighted that the talented vocalists behind HUNTR/X will bring their vibrant K-Pop energy to the EE BAFTA Film Awards next month. Our aim is not only to honor exceptional films and their creators but also to craft an unforgettable night of entertainment, and we eagerly await the arrival of this iconic trio on the red carpet.”

The Grand Ceremony Details
